Importing jobs from the web

11 Nov 2019

There are four ways you can get your active jobs into nthuse:

  1. Import multiple jobs from an ATS (Applicant Tracking System)
  2. Copy and paste from another document
  3. Type your job ad directly into nthuse
  4. Import jobs from a web page containing Google Jobs structured data

This article will show you how to import jobs from a web page.

Which web pages can I import jobs from?

You can import jobs one at a time from any web page built with Google Jobs Structured Data. This could be a job from your career’s site or one you’ve previously posted to a job board.

Importing jobs from the web

  1. From Your Jobs, click Import from web

  2. Add the web page address of the job you’d like to import

  3. Click Import job

How does it work?

We can pull job details from any web page that is using Google Jobs structured data. It’s a similar process to how we import your brand assets when you create your nthuse account. We look for your job details within the code of the specific web page you provide.

Here are the types of information we can import:

  • Job title
  • Job description
  • Salary
  • Location
  • Contract type
  • Closing date

What is Google Jobs Structured Data?

Google Jobs Structured Data is a standardised format for giving Google information about a job and classifying that data. It’s how you tell Google which part of your job advert is the Job Title, which part is the Salary and so on.

Here’s how Google describes it:

Google Search works hard to understand the content of a page. You can help us by providing explicit clues about the meaning of a page to Google by including structured data on the page. Structured data is a standardized format for providing information about a page and classifying the page content; for example, on a recipe page, what are the ingredients, the cooking time and temperature, the calories, and so on.

We can use this structured data to identify key information about your job and import this information into nthuse.

You can read the full Google developer guide to structured data here.

Errors importing jobs from the web
